Makenzi makes her debut!

During round 2 of the Women’s Senior state league 5 game against Mornington there was a piece of history made when Makenzi Phillips became the first registered Junior player to play for the Women’s Senior team at Mount Eliza Soccer club.

Makenzi is in her second year at the club after previously playing at Langwarrin and Southern United. Most Sundays, you will find her in Under 16 Red team patrolling the midfield. Her outstanding form and dedication to training earned her a call up the Seniors.

How was it playing in the seniors?

“Given the opportunity to play seniors as a junior was a privilege. The best part was how welcoming the girls have made me feel and knocking an opposition player double my age over while challenging for the ball was unreal.”
