Football Victoria's development category for U7 to U11 players.

Ages shown are for the Soccer Season 2026

Under 7's (born 2019) compete in the Saturday Bayside League playing 7 v 7 games with a size 3 ball, 4 x 10 minute quarters.
Under 8's (born 2017) & 9s (born 2018) compete in the Football Victoria Boys Saturday/Girls Sunday competition playing 7 v 7 with a size 3 ball, 2 x 20 minute halves.
Under 10's (born 2016) compete in the Football Victoria Boys Saturday/Girls Sunday competition playing 9 v 9 with a size 4 ball, 2 x 25 minute halves
Under 11's (born 2015) compete in the Football Victoria Boys Saturday/Girls Sunday competition playing 9 v 9 with a size 4 ball, 2 x 25 minute halves

Under 8-Under 11 age group teams are placed into 3 levels based on playing ability:

• Joeys for players with little to no previous experience or those still at the early stages of learning soccer skills.
• Wallabies an intermediary level for players developing their soccer skills.
• Kangaroos for players with strong skills who want to be challenged and pushed at the highest level.

Note: Kangaroos is only run at the club for Under 9's and above. 

There are no official referees, referees are to be supplied by the home team which is generally a parent or older sibling of a player involved.  

There is no offside rule (offside begins in Under 12's), scores are not recorded, there are no points tables, and no red & yellow cards can be issued
