Kingston 2 v 0 Mt Eliza Red
This was an 8 a-side match which seemed to be played on a smaller pitch, the result was a mass of players around the ball with very little open play. Kingston started well but could not get through the defence. The first half ended after 1 shot on goal from each team, Marlon for us with Callum in goal stopping a good shot. Benjamin made a great interception to clear a forward ball to their lone striker hanging around near our goal. James and Marlon clashed heads causing Marlon to need some time out.
The second half started with James, Zane, Jack and Ryan attacking well together. On a counter a firm shot was struck passing Josh and leaving Zac with little chance, goal Kingston. The aggressive pulling and arms continued from Kingston and Zane was pushed over and players were often held back. Benjamin was great in defence and another Kingston shot beat Zac. Late on Ryan and Zane were struck, and Mt Eliza were a player down, James came so close to scoring and Jack provided grit and determination in midfield. Overall a physical game played with different rules and no free kicks.
