Mount Eliza Soccer Club in conjunction with KANO are this October sending a team of ten Mount Eliza Soccer players from the Under 12 Boys Academy to Japan. Thanks Sportsco Mornington and SMART Business solutions for their solutions for their support of the Japan camp 2024.
KANO is an Australian organization that arranges tours for high-quality community football teams to tour Japan for competitive friendly games and a major tournament against Japanese teams – as a impactful cultural exchange.
KANO created a Japan Camp in 2017. MESC Technical Director, Gary Talbot, attended a KANO camp with a Langwarrin team in 2019 and is a strong supporter of the program - having seen first-hand an enduring positive impact that a sporting and cultural tour to Japan can have on young players.
The camp seeks to connect Australian and Japanese communities. The broad vision is to give players at ambitious community clubs like the
MESC an opportunity of a lifetime that offers a powerful football and cultural experience.
Mount Eliza Soccer Club plans to send an Under 12's Academy team to Japan at the end of each season for the foreseeable future.
The Japan Camp is a self-funded tour, there are opportunities to raise funds through club activities.
